Sarah Jo Lively

Yoga Teacher, Veterans Yoga Project

Upon retiring from the US Air Force after 20+ years as an Airborne Cryptologic Linguist, Sarah felt called to pursue her yoga teacher certification with the hopes of bringing yoga to fellow veterans, their caregivers and community. Though she has been practicing yoga for over 25 years, teacher training set her on a path of deeper exploration and self-discovery—inviting her hOMe to her true being. Sarah is a ERYT-500 yoga instructor, health and wellness coach and licensed EMT.

She has been with Veterans Yoga Project since 2014 and currently serves as the Nebraska State Coordinator and lead facilitator for Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery. Sarah holds a graduate degree in Lifestyle Medicine and Health and Wellness, and is currently working towards a PhD in Biomechanics with an emphasis in Kinesiology. She is the wife of a Navy combat Veteran and mother of five amazing children (one currently serving in the USN). When she is not out exploring the world and seeking adventure, you will find her on the mat teaching mindful resilience for trauma recovery and compassion fatigue classes to communities near and far.
