Leta Hirschmann-Levy

Actor, writer, and teaching artist

Leta Hirschmann-Levy is a proud native New Yorker, actor, writer, and teaching artist. She has performed in such New York City venues as The Public Theater, Signature Theatre, Noor Theatre, and The Flea. Leta taught with Voices of a People’s History in collaboration with Lincoln Center for many years. For the past two years Leta has been a volunteer lead organizer with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) in New York City. There she has spent her efforts fighting against the Israeli occupation of Palestine and their ongoing genocide, and the U.S.’s complicity in funding it. As a Jewish person and the descendant of Holocaust survivors, Leta was taught never again for anyone. She has spent the better half of her life in movements for a free Palestine and refusing to allow her family’s history and identity to be used to justify an occupation, apartheid state and now a genocide.
