Jeremiah Knowles LMSW

VFP Board Vice President, Mental Health Professional

Jeremiah is an Army National Guard veteran who served in Kabul Afghanistan 08-09 as an intelligence analyst. Jeremiah joined in 2006, during his junior year of high school and completed AIT in 2007 at Ft Huachuca Arizona in December 2007, leaving for Afghanistan just a few months later. Growing up on a low income, Jeremiah joined the military largely for the economic benefits; the monthly income from drill and the college support. Jeremiah graduated from SUNY Oneonta in upstate New York with a Bachelors in Adolescent Education and later with a Master in Social Work from University at Buffalo. Jeremiah currently works as a mental health clinician at Nazareth College in Rochester NY. While working on his masters degree, Jeremiah had the opportunity to focus on masculinity, abusive relationships, and veteran mental health. Jeremiah joined VFP in the summer of 2020 and quickly became engaged in various committees and his local chapter. He was excited to find an organization that helped him reconcile his identity as a veteran and his values of non-violence, service, and social justice. Currently Jeremiah serves on the Transformative Justice Committee, the Membership Committee, Gamers for Peace, and serves as the Chapter 23 secretary in Rochester NY.
