Diana Valles

Since emigrating from Chihuahua, Mexico, Diana has been a member of Culinary Workers Union Local 226 in Las Vegas for the last 37 years. She has served as Shop Steward, Committee Leader, Lead Organizer and now Union President. She led a successful organizing campaign involving 6,000 workers and has led innovative contract and legislative victories around immigrant rights, workplace safety, and COVID.  With 60,000 members, Culinary Union is the strongest political force in Nevada.  It has brought a better life to its members, to non-union workers in the hospitality industry, to workers in other industries, and to Nevadans as a whole through worker-centered legislation it has fought for over 90 years.
