From Bruce: "I am US Army veteran, and I served a tour of duty in Viet Nam in 1967 and 1968. I was honorably discharged from the Army in May 1968 after completing my tour in Viet Nam. My education background is as follows: BA, Sociology, Iowa ’66; MA, Sociology, Syracuse ’71; MA in Healthcare Administration, University of Colorado, Denver ’97; MA, History, Wichita State University, ’06. I retired 2002 from the Department of Veterans Affairs as a member of the Federal Executive Service. I moved ten times in my career including Philadelphia; Washington D.C.; Tacoma, Washington; Lexington, KY; and Birmingham, AL. I moved to Waynesville, Western North Carolina in July 2012. Approximately half my career was in human resources and half in hospital administration. I have been active in the VFP National Save Our VA Project since February 2019, and I serve on the Project’s Steering Committee. I recently testified before the House Veterans Affairs Committee on behalf of SOVA. My hobbies include woodworking, travel, and reading. I am married, and I have three sons who live in Denver, Austin, and San Diego. I have one granddaughter in Denver and two grandsons in San Diego."
